Vijñāna Yoga – A Practice of Depth
Vijñāna Yoga is a contemporary form of yoga practice rooted in direct inner knowing. Vijñāna means “understanding from within.”
The practice draws from the lineage of Sri Krishnamacharya and his students B.K.S. Iyengar and Pattabhi Jois, and was founded in 2003 by Orit Sen-Gupta.
At its core lies a continuous personal practice:
sitting in stillness, conscious breathing (pranayama), attentive asana practice, and the study of classical texts form its four pillars.
These elements interweave and create a space for clarity, presence, and connection.
My teaching integrates the precise, structured alignment of Iyengar Yoga with the softness and depth of Vijñāna Yoga.
It is shaped by a subtle understanding of the nervous system and the language of the body.
Movement arises from inner listening.
The breath leads.
The posture becomes alive and permeable from within.
It is not about form, but about perception.
Not about performance, but about the quality of being –
about discovering what is already there.
For me, Vijñāna Yoga is a quiet path towards strength, trust, and essence – on the mat and beyond.
