Vijñāna Yoga –
A Practice with Depth
Vijñāna Yoga is a contemporary form of yoga practice that is rooted in direct inner knowing — Vijñāna means “understanding from within.”
This practice is grounded in the lineage of Sri Krishnamacharya and his students B.K.S. Iyengar and Pattabhi Jois, and was founded by Orit Sen-Gupta in 2003.
At its core lies one’s own continuous practice:
sitting in stillness, mindful breathing (pranayama), consciously performed asanas, and the study of classical texts form its four pillars.
These elements are interwoven, creating a space for inner clarity,
presence, and connection.
My teaching combines the precise, structured alignment of Iyengar Yoga with the softness and depth of Vijñāna Yoga.
Movement arises from inner listening — the breath leads,
the posture becomes alive and permeable from within.
It’s not about form,
but perception.
Not about achievement,
but the quality of being:
about discovering what has always been there.
To me, Vijñāna Yoga is a quiet path to strength, trust, and essence —
on the mat and beyond.
